Must Have Monday
It's Must-Have Monday. Here are a few of the things I can't live without this year:
1) My latest obsession is my new lamination machine! Even more exciting, it works a million times better than the one at school and makes things less flimsy. Too bad it's too small for posters and the one at school is currently a little broken.
2) Super sharp scissors! I found these new ones that are resistant to getting sticky. Someone kidnapped my best scissors from my class during summer school and returned them all sticky. So I picked up bright and shiny new pair at Target and I love them. The squishy rubber on the handles keeps my hands from hurting when I have a bunch of stuff to cut out.
3) Colored pens! I do a ton of progress monitoring in my classroom. I like to keep the records easy to read so I rotate which colors I use for the graphs and the color I write with for their sight word knowledge each quarter. The ones below are one of my favorites because they always write well. They mark like a marker but don't generally go through the paper unless I push too hard.
4) Morrison School Supply! I used to think Lakeshore was a teacher's dream come true... and then I found Morrison! I realize this may not be helpful to most of you because I think it's only in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I love that place! It looks like a small warehouse and it's not too exciting until you realize just how many great school supplies they have that are a million times cheaper than Lakeshore. My favorite part is all the different brands they carry so you are sure to find exactly what you're looking for. Construction paper is crazy cheap too! Hands on learning, reproducibles, classroom decorations, they have it all!
